No matter where you live, it gets hot in the summer! And when you’re pregnant, it seems like temperatures rise even faster. Not only is it uncomfortable, but it’s also not safe to get too hot while you’re pregnant. With these tips, you’ll stay cool and comfortable!
- Stay hydrated. This goes without saying, but when you’re pregnant you should drink more than usual. If you’re bored with plain water, try infusing it with fruit. You should also get electrolytes from Gatorade or other sports drinks.
- Hang in the shade. If you’re at an outdoor event, stay in the shade or go indoors when you can.
- Don’t overdo it. Heat puts extra strain on your body, so take it easy. Take breaks when you need to during activity, and sit whenever possible.
- Dress comfortable. We know, you want to be fashionable and cute. But this is the time to choose comfort! Wear loose-fitting clothing made of cotton so that it’s breathable.
